Beautiful, perfect + quirky you

Dear Addison,

From the very first moment that I held you in my arms I knew you were a treasure. A treasure that I was blessed with calling my own, my daughter. A treasure that I was responsible for protecting and raising. Your daddy and I were new to this whole parenting thing, but we promised you we'd always love you and do right by you. We've made some mistakes along the way, my girl. We've cried. We've yelled. We've said and done things we regret. We've learned. We've laughed. We've loved. We've loved you with all of our hearts all of the time.

My sweet Addie Mae, these past five years with you in our lives and hearts have been the most incredible years of my life. Nothing compares to the moment you made me a mama. Holding you in my arms for the first time, staring at your beautiful face, I knew that your daddy and I were in for an adventure of a lifetime!

You are every bit your daddy's girl and your mama's world. You have your daddy's sense of adventure, strange obsession with meteorology and love of all things with an engine. You share my addiction to chocolate, crafting, creating and reading. But you are also every bit your own person. You are smart. Kind. Silly. Loving. Sassy. Daring. Bold. Funny. You love to dance and sing and act and create. You are a leader. A friend. But most of all, you are you. Beautiful, perfect and quirky you.

Thank you, my girl, for reminding me every day to stop and smell the flowers, to dance like no one is watching, to sing silly songs and wear crazy hairdos. Thank you for being my snuggle buns, my side kick, my crafting buddy and my mini sous chef. Most importantly, thank you for loving me back and being mine. I love you with my whole heart for my whole life. Happy 5th Birthday, my girl. I love you.

Always + Forever,

Flamingo Frenzy

Is it just me, or have flamingos taken over recently? Move over starfish and anchors, there's a new summer trend in town. I am loving the fun pops of pink on everything from from bed sheets to phone covers. Do you think I could convince my hubby to splurge on a flamingo duvet cover? {hah, I already know the answer to that one!}

Flamingo Frenzy

Even Addie Mae caught flamingo fever!
