Family Vacation

The best part of summer is our long weekend getaways up North. Lazy mornings, walks through the woods, family nap times, rides on the four wheelers, BBQs, and s'mores by the fire at night. My favorite part, though, is the natural beauty we are surrounded with at the cabin.

My Little Love

With Addie being up north with my mom these past few days I've had some quality one-on-one time with my sweet little love, Mason. It is really the first time since he was born that the two of us have had any alone time together without any distractions. I even got to lie in bed with him for lots of extra snuggles & cuddles this morning!

I think its time for a new phone (hint, hint hubby!). My camera phone isn't taking as good of shots as it used to.

I also have yet to share his 5 month photos with everyone. That smile of his just melts my heart. My little man has 2 bottom teeth now. We didn't even realize it until the other day - talk about a fuss free and low maintenance babe!

We're headed up north early in the morning. Cannot wait to see my girl!

Love & Hugs,
Michaela

Welcome To The World Ellie!

My cousin Martina, and her husband Dave, welcomed Ellie Grace to the world yesterday afternoon. I am so unbelievably happy for their beautiful little family. I've been working on this post and couldn't wait for the official, "She's here!" so that I could share with the world my excitement for my sweet little niece.

Dear Ellie,
Welcome to this amazing & beautiful world sweet girl. I am so happy that you are finally here and I cannot wait to snuggle you. You are already so special to me for a number of reasons, but mostly, because I know how happy you have made your mommy!

Let me tell you a little something about your mommy. She has always been like a big sister to me. When I was a little girl I always wanted to be just like her. She had the stylish clothes, listened to the cool music, always seemed to know everything, and despite our 5 year age difference she always let me tag along with her when we spent summers together. Mostly, though, what I have always admired is her confidence. Your mommy is strong and powerful in all of the right ways.

Ellie Grace, you are loved by so many people already. Your mommy & daddy, your Oma, your tantes & uncles…the list goes on. You are also loved by your Uhr Oma (or Tick Tock Oma as your cousin Addie calls her) who is now our angel in heaven. Your mommy, tantes Alexa & Jenna, and I will be sure to tell you so many amazing stories about her. I know that she is giggling and dancing with your Uhr Opa in celebration of your birth.

Happy birth day Ellie Grace! May your life be filled with love, laughter and happiness. On the darker days know that you are surrounded by a family that as silly and goofy as we can be, is also strong and proud.

You are beautiful, like your mama, and I know that your heart will be just as loving as hers. The world is yours to conquer…go get ‘em!

I love you sweet girl!
Love & Hugs,

Tante Michaela

Road Trip'n Tot

Addison is headed north for some quality time with Oma & Grandpa this summer.  She was so excited to pack her suitcase and hit the road with Oma in her Jeep.

Waving goodbye to Mommy & Daddy

Blowing kisses!

Sure can't wait to join my sweet girl up North. A few more days of work and then I'll start taking some vacation days every other week or so. In the meantime, Mr. Masey-Moo is really loving the single child life! And I've quickly gotten used to having just one kiddo around...what a productive day!

love & hugs,
Michaela

Don't forget about Dad!

Happy Father's day to all of you incredible dads out there...especially my two favorites, my daddy and my hubby!

Buying gifts for guys is always tough - sure, you can easily scoop up a gift card to his favorite home improvement store or score tickets to his favorite sport event. But, sometimes it's nice to spoil him a little more. That is why I love the idea of Birchbox for men! (Click here to read some more about how much I love this company).

Just like for women, your guy's gift will arrive in the mail in this great little box - you can choose your subscription length (2 months, 6 months or 1 year) or shop a-la-carte for his favorite products.

Happy Father's Day!!!

Love & Hugs,
Michaela

Door Frame

It was raining the day of Addie's party so my plan to string balloons up around the mailbox marking the party spot was a bust. Luckily, I had already created this decorative frame which I stuck on the front door in lieu of a wreath.

This is an easy and super budget friendly craft that required just a few simple things. I picked out the fun frame at Michaels for just under $8.

For a few dollars more I picked up this can of colored glitter spray paint.

It took less than a minute to cover the frame entirely and within half an hour it was dry and ready to go!

Finally, use a hot glue gun to top it off with your accessories of choice. In this case, these pink butterflies were the perfect pick to coincide with Addie's enchanted birthday brunch theme seen here.

Mother of the Year

Apparently my sweet little boy can roll over from his tummy to his back now...at rapid speed. Up until today he's really only mastered the back to belly move...not getting very far in the process. So today, when I set him in the middle of our king sized bed and then took three steps away to quickly grab something I had no idea that in that short amount of time he'd be on the move.

Three steps. I took three steps and then, THUMP! I turned and my baby boy was MIA. Yes, my sweet, handsome, innocent baby boy fell off the bed and onto the floor. He cried a little bit but was quickly back to his smiley & giggly self. Me, on the other hand...I was a wreck. Crying hysterically I quickly called on Aunties Britta & Katie...who assured me he was okay and shared other stories of mama's they knew whose children had fallen (or been dropped) and turned out okay!

Phew!

So like any good mom, I pulled myself together...and left the babes with a babysitter and met Hubby at the pub for date night.

Mother of the year.

However, you can bet I'll be bringing my sweet boy into bed with me tonight...you know, to make sure he is okay.

Okay, so really it's because he is the best snuggler ever!

We're only humans, mistakes happen. Alright mamas...spill it...what have you done to earn "Mother of the Year" status?

Enchanted Birthday Brunch

We celebrated Addie's 3rd birthday this past weekend with an Enchanted Birthday Brunch, the perfect theme for a sweet girl who loves fairies.

I made a vanilla cake topped with buttercream frosting and chocolate decorations.

These DIY flower decorations are super easy to make. For directions click here

These cupcake toppers were the perfect finishing touch.
